Second Life (SL) is an online, 3D virtual world where users, called Residents, create customizable avatars and live a virtual life. Unlike a traditional video game, SL has no set goals or objectives; it is a platform for free-form creativity, socializing, commerce, and exploring a vast, user-generated environment known as “the grid.” Its economy is driven by the Linden Dollar (L$), which can be exchanged for real currency.

A Weekend Sale is a recurring Second Life shopping event where designers offer selected products at heavily discounted fixed prices. These events are a major part of Second Life shopping culture and make it easy to discover new creators, stores and products every weekend.

We are huge fans of alternative, gothic, emo and scene aesthetics in Second Life and wanted to create a place where shoppers could easily discover creators and weekend deals that actually fit those communities. We are weekend-sale shoppers too — so we built the kind of experience we wanted to use ourselves.

Sale items are hosted directly by participating designers. Browse the weekly Alt or Scene gallery and use the teleport link on a product card to visit that creator's store in Second Life.

Always try a DEMO when one is available before purchasing mesh clothing, hair or other fitted products. Each creator supports different bodies and sizes, and virtual purchases are generally final.

Designers can apply through our creator application page. We look for active Second Life brands with a clear identity, quality products and a public store or portfolio. Alt focuses on darker alternative aesthetics, while Scene covers brighter, nostalgic and broader alternative styles.

Products must follow our event rules, accurately represent what customers receive and be available at the required sale price for the full event period. Alt focuses on darker alternative aesthetics while Scene allows a broader range of colorful, nostalgic and alternative styles.

Alt + Scene gives creators access to a targeted Second Life shopping audience, weekly gallery exposure, affordable participation and our Creator Portal for submissions, previews, Creator Pages and brand management.

Alt Weekend Sale focuses on goth, emo, punk, grunge, horror, occult and darker alternative aesthetics. Scene Weekend Sale expands into scenecore, Y2K, rave, kawaii, colorful alt, hyperpop and other styles.
